The legendary Happy Canyon Vineyard provides us with the fruit for this stunning annual bottling. The Happy Canyon AVA is a short drive from our own property, about 8 miles east of us, but just this brief distance reveals a distinctly suitable climate for ripening Bordeaux varietals. The nose explodes with deep blackberry and leather aromas. On the palate, elegant tannins will provide for a long life in the bottle, but the wine is showing beautifully right now: cassis, fresh vanilla bean, and raspberry compote tones all linger for minutes.
