2020 Chateau Duplantier

2020 Chateau Duplantier

The release of our signature red blend is always one of our favorite moments of the year! Vintage after vintage, this small-lot, age-worthy red is one of the most highly-acclaimed wines in Santa Barbara County. Ripe red and blue fruit aromas explode on the nose along with fragrant dried flower elements. On the palate, the texture is velvety with fine-grained tannins that support black pepper, raspberry compote, and anise tones. Structurally-rich and highly age-worthy, this vintage will continue to evolve in the bottle over the years, but is drinking incredibly well right now.

Here's what acclaimed wine critic Jeb Dunnuck had to say about this wine:

Based on 35% Syrah, 30% Mourvèdre, and near-equal parts Grenache and Petite Sirah, the ruby-hued 2020 Chateau Duplantier gives up spicy, savory notes of mulled cherries, baking chocolate, leather, and dried herbs. The beautiful, savory, medium to full-bodied blend has ripe tannins, a balanced, layered mouthfeel, and a great finish. It has an almost old Hermitage, bloody character that I absolutely love.
