The legendary Happy Canyon Vineyard provides us with the fruit for this stunning annual bottling. The Happy Canyon AVA is a short drive from our own property, about 8 miles east of us, but just this brief distance reveals a distinctly suitable climate for ripening Bordeaux varietals. The nose reveals rich notes of dark cherry, tilled soil, and dried purple flower. On the palate, subtle hints of black pepper mingle with dusty cranberry, raspberry compote, and a gorgeous fine-grained tannic structure that will evolve beautifully with ageing.
