Thompson Vineyard is a mature, hillside site in Alisos Canyon, planted to Rhône and Bordeaux varietals. The Petite Sirah we source from this sustainably-farmed vineyard is deeply pigmented and powerfully built, shaped by the sandy loam soils and wide temperature swings of the canyon. This bold, structured, and age-worthy red features the Adobe series label “El Rey,” or “The King,” in reference to the era when the King of Spain owned the land upon which our adobe now stands. Saturated and brooding in the glass, the wine offers layered notes of blackberry compote, roasted cacao, dried sage, and black peppercorn. Dense and gripping on the palate, it promises to evolve gracefully over time.
