Last year’s vintage of Château Duplantier was the highest-rated red Rhône blend in the annual review of Santa Barbara County by Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. This new vintage, just bottled in January, is already vibrantly open, with luscious notes of blackberry jam and fresh blueberry that harmonize beautifully with spice tones of cardamom and black pepper. The addition of Petite Sirah to Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre adds a fleshy blue fruit element while bolstering density and structure. It's an irresistible and age-worthy addition to a long line of acclaimed releases.
