Zotovich Vineyard is an acclaimed, family-owned vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills to the west of Rideau, only a few miles from the Pacific coast. In expanding our small-lot program of Santa Barbara County Syrahs, these vines—planted in sandy soils and saturated in foggy mornings—revealed to us a perfect expression of cool-climate, mineral and spice-driven Syrah that is utterly beautiful. Raspberry compote, kalamata olive, and black pepper notes swirl in this structured, inky-purple Syrah that shows excellent balance from start to finish. Only 100 cases were produced of this age-worthy wine.
