Zotovich Vineyard is an acclaimed, family-owned vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills to the west of Rideau, only a few miles from the Pacific coast. In expanding our small-lot program of Santa Barbara County Syrahs, these vines—planted in sandy soils and saturated in foggy mornings—revealed to us a perfect expression of cool-climate, mineral and spice-driven Syrah that is utterly beautiful. Aromas of boysenberry and cherry entice on the lovely nose, while the palate shows strength in textured tannins that are brightened by lifted strawberry and white pepper elements. The palate is textured with luscious tannins that will help the wine age for many years.
